I am very thrilled to announce that Canson USA has asked me to represent the United States as a nominee for the 2011 Prix Canson! The Prix Canson is an annual prize presented to an international artist whose works contribute to the position of contemporary drawing and works on paper in general. It is part of Canson’s artistic patronage program, the Canson Fund for Art and Paper. This is a huge honor for me and I am very excited. Thanks to Kimberly and everyone at Canson USA.

Canson is in partnership with the Louvre, where  Neil and I are invited to attend the award ceremony on June 9. As part of the ceremony my work will be shown in a slide show, along with the artists from other countries. Opening that evening at the Louvre will be The Art of Paper, an exhibition on artists and paper from the 15th century to the present, presented by the Louvre and Canson. Boticelli, Degas, Picasso, Matisse…looking forward to see them all! The exhibit is open until September 5.

I have also been invited to participate in a group exhibition of all the nominees at the Hotel de Sauroy from June 6 – June 19th. Please do visit the exhibit if you will be in Paris.
